Today we carved some large pumpkins into jack-o-lanterns!
We started by cutting off the top.
The kids then enjoyed touching and smelling (yuck) the insides of the pumpkin.
Each of the kids grabbed a handful of the "pulp" and tried to pick out the seeds.
It was then time to carve our jack-o-lantern's face. The kids made suggestions of shapes for the eyes, nose and mouth.
Our finished product!
The afternoon class got to carve a pumpkin as well!
